Privacy Policy

Last updated July 18, 2026 Version 1.1.0 Applies to modelr.ai & app.modelr.ai

This policy explains what information modelr.ai collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

modelr.ai is a workspace that lets users share an interactive financial model with investors or others you invite (“counterparties”). Counterparties can adjust assumptions to create scenarios, stress-test, and otherwise explore your financial model. Your workspace is constrained by an AI agent which prevents counterparties from creating scenarios which deviate from the structure and intent of your business plan. This allows you to safely share your financials without giving counterparties your entire financial model file.

Protecting the models, plans, and personal details you trust us with is central to how the product works. Our privacy policy is designed to protect you while also providing counterparties with tools and features which deepen their understanding of your business.

01

Who we are

modelr.ai (“modelr”, “we”, “us”) is a product operated by colliga.ai, which is based in New York City, USA.

This policy covers our marketing site at modelr.ai and the product at app.modelr.ai (together, the “Service”). If you have questions, reach us through our contact page.

02

Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Founder cohort application. When you apply, we collect your first & last name, email address (required), and optionally your phone number and LinkedIn. We also collect your company name (required), website (optional), as well as your funding stage, and team size.
  • Uploaded materials. As part of applying to the founder’s cohort and/or using the product, you must upload a financial model, either a business plan or a pitch deck. These files and their contents are required to operate the Service.
  • Contact form. If you contact us through the site, we collect the name, email, and message you provide.
  • Account. To use app.modelr.ai we collect your email and the credentials used to sign you in, and, for founders, details about your workspace and company.
  • Counterparty participation. When a founder invites you to review a model, we collect the name and email used for the invitation, and log a record of your activity while reviewing the workspace.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage & device data: pages viewed, actions taken, approximate location derived from IP address, browser and device type, and similar technical data.
  • Product analytics via PostHog, which may include session replays and feature-usage events.
  • Experience analytics via Hotjar (for example, heatmaps and aggregated session insights).
  • Search performance via Google Search Console.
  • Cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies & analytics).

Model & workspace content

When you use the product, we process the financial models, business plans, and related materials you upload, together with the governance configuration and the scenario interactions derived from them. A founder’s model content is treated as confidential to that founder’s workspace.

03

How we use information

  • To provide and operate the Service, including reading and interpreting an uploaded model, deriving a governance configuration, and running counterparty scenarios within it.
  • To review and manage founder cohort applications and communicate decisions.
  • To send transactional and service messages (for example, magic-link sign-in, invitations, and application updates) through our email providers.
  • To process payments and manage subscriptions through our payment processor.
  • To understand usage, debug, and improve the Service.
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent misuse or fraud.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

04

AI processing

Some features rely on AI. We use Anthropic’s Claude to help analyze uploaded models and business plans and to help derive governance configurations. Content sent to our AI provider for processing is used only to provide these features. We do not use your model content, business plans, or personal information to train AI models (ours or a third party’s), and we operate with our AI provider under zero-retention terms where the provider supports it.

05

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with advertisers. We share information only as described below.

Service providers (sub-processors)

We use a small set of vendors to run the Service. They process data on our behalf under contract:

ProviderPurpose
Amazon Web ServicesHosting, file storage, and database (United States)
Resend / BrevoTransactional and product email
StripePayment processing
AnthropicAI processing of models and plans
PostHog / HotjarProduct and experience analytics
GoogleSearch Console (search performance)

Between a founder and their invited counterparties

When a founder shares a model, the invited counterparties can view and explore it within the bounds the system sets as described above. Counterparty activity in a session is visible to the founder who owns that model. Counterparties do not receive the underlying spreadsheet or the founder’s account details beyond what the founder chooses to share.

Legal, safety, and business transfers

  • To comply with law, respond to lawful requests, or protect the rights, safety, and property of users, the public, or modelr.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case we will continue to protect your information and notify you of any change in control of your data.

06

Cookies & analytics

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the Service is used. Analytics providers (PostHog, Hotjar, Google Search Console) may set their own cookies or identifiers. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Service works.

07

Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, and afterward only as required to meet legal, accounting, or reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

  • Uploaded model content is retained for the life of the relevant workspace or subscription, and deleted or de-identified after termination within a reasonable period.
  • Cohort application data is retained to administer and evaluate the program.
  • You can ask us to delete your information as described in Your rights & choices.

08

Security

We protect information with technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2 or higher) and at rest (AES-256), role-based access controls, multi-factor authentication for personnel with production access, and logical isolation of each workspace’s data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

09

Where data is held

The Service is operated from the United States, and information is processed and stored there. If you access the Service from outside the United States, you understand your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

10

Your rights & choices

  • Access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you.
  • Export a copy of information you provided.
  • Opt out of non-essential marketing emails using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us. We will still send necessary service messages.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising your rights. We respond to requests within the time required by applicable law. To exercise any right, reach us through our contact page.

11

Children

The Service is intended for businesses and professionals and is not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

12

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, notify you through the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
